Kamal Haasan completes Half-century in Film IndustryCome August 15, ‘Ulaganayagan’ would complete his 50 jubilant years in the film industry.

The great actor on August 12, 1959 appeared first in front of the camera as a child artist in AVM’s Kalathur Kannamma.

Kalathur Kannamma was the debut film of Kamal Haasan as a child artist. The film was directed by Bhim Singh in which Gemini Ganesan and Savitri played lead roles. At that time, Kamal Haasan was just five years old, and he won the best child actor National Award for his performance in the film.

Kamal Hassan is the only actor in the country who achieved milestones for himself, and he has acted in all the four South Indian Languages and even in Hindi and some Bengali movies.

Recently, Kamal Haasan had conducted a seminar along with IIT-Madras on ‘International Workshop and Seminar on Screenwriting’ to stress the importance of screenplay in cinema.

On this, an elated Haasan said, “I am happy with the fact that people have been kind to me, including my teachers, my technicians and even my critics. I consider myself as being fortunate, lucky not having some nasty accident.”

The actor has much hopes from his upcoming film ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ in Tamil and Eenadu in Telugu.

The story of the film is based on the Bollywood movie ‘A Wednesday’.
